2021 Trends

Trends come and go year to year, season to season, and sometimes month to month. They can be
difficult to predict and follow but we have done some research to offer some insight into how we
think interior design will be evolving over the year of 2021. You will be pleased to know that these
trends appear to be becoming more and more everlasting and timeless, meaning you can
incorporate these design ideas to keep your house on trend for the long run.

Curves:
For many years clean lines have dominated the interior/exterior world, however we are once again
embracing the curve! From the amazing arch to cabinetry and furnishings, its back!
Adding an arch or curve to your space can elevate the outcome. We have been incorporating them
into our designs with beautiful results. No matter which design style you may have: Art Deco, Boho
Chic, Traditional, Contemporary, Scandinavian, Old world, arches are right at home. They can be as
dramatic or subtle as you wish. Even Exterior designs are embracing the curve once again. Take a
drive around the city and you will see them emerging.

Keep it Simple:
Demand seems to be favouring minimalism regarding colour selections, textures, and finishes. The
world seems to be collectively moving toward simpler living. Big on the list is Luxe Boho and Palm
springs designs in both Interior and Exterior Designs. This trend particularly favours neutral and
earthy tones such as greens, browns, and beiges. These colours can be easily incorporated and
combined for simple yet timelessly trendy designs. Further, maintaining simplicity in décor means
your space is not overstimulation but also means you can more readily adapt to future trends in
terms of colour and texture. Think rattan, rugs, oaks, whites, and natural fibres.

Home Office.
As a result of isolation and many people transitioning to working-from-home, people will be seeking
to create a tranquil and peaceful home environment. The home office is now a staple in most
designs in residential homes. We are finding clients are seeking areas for workspace and or study
nooks. Creating a functional and aesthetical space can result in a productive workspace for years to
come.

Indoor Plants:
Plants are seemingly popular with many decorative planters and hanger to display our mother
natured friends. They also provide advantages of purifying the air which circulates in our homes. The
more the merrier we say.

Statement Pieces
A trend which never fails to rear its head is that of statement pieces. Whilst we predict the rise of
simplicity, this does not cancel out a seemingly innate love for statement elements. If you are
personally one for neutral colour palettes, this trend can still be incorporated with use of statement
textures, curved walls, or even intriguing house plants. For the more daring, this trend opens a lot of
doors. Consider contrasting colour schemes, interesting textures, and bold furniture selections. We
love including statement pieces in our projects, such as unique pendants, pops of colour in colour
schemes, and eye-catching furniture selections.
