What is a BA? A Building Approval (BA) is required when undertaking construction under the Planning Act 2016 and specific building legislation.
With all the moving parts and complexities of the certification / BA process, it can seem overwhelming. But once you know what to expect, its easier to understand the timeframes involved. The chart below outlines how we facilitate your building approval with our certifiers and the appropriate council.

The role of the certifier is to ensure that the requirements of the Queensland Development Code and the National Construction Code are met. Then you can enjoy your home, knowing it is safe and compliant.
Input from the certifier helps
- Understand the specific overlays and regulations that apply to each block.
- Ensure mandatory legislative requirements are met
- Avoid unexpected costs and the delay of additional applications.
Once approval is obtained, work on your project can begin. You’ll be kept in the loop as the required milestones are achieved. The approval process concludes following the final inspection and collation of certificates at the completion of the build.
