Spencer Constructions June Site Update
It’s a little late this month, but better late than never.
The Shed’s at Brendale is nearly complete and we are loving the design features that CG Design Studio have cleverly put together.
Carberry is taking shape and you can now get a great feel for the design. Those high ceilings are something special! Local Focus Design is the Architect behind this build
Victoria is nearly complete and the finishing touches are being installed. (How great is that pendant over the stairs?) Focus Architecture and Kjk Interiors are the wizards behind this beautiful home.
The Gabba has seen some amazing progress through June with retaining and slabs going in! We can’t wait to see the framing complete! MR Building Design and kjk_interiors are the A team behind this monster renovation!
Summergrace is a beautiful Queensland cottage that is progressing well with scaffolding dropping and finishing touches going in! MR Building Design it’s going to be a beauty!
We are also currently in the middle of hosting Australia’s Largest Meat Tray is raising much-needed money for MATES in Construction. COVID has unfortunately exacerbated what was is a silent killer in the construction industry.
EVERY SECOND DAY we lose a construction worker to suicide and for every suicide, there are 40 to 100 attempts – 80% of these never return to work!
For construction workers, it is generally a buildup of factors that lead to us being overwhelmed and suicide becomes an option to relive the pain – both the physical and emotional.
During Covid, MATES in Construction QLD & NT has been very active on sites working safely with workers. These times can add another layer of stress and anxiety on workers who may already be experiencing tough times. Keeping an eye on our workmates and checking in with them when we see they are struggling is literally lifesaving. MATES in Construction QLD & NT have extended their office opening hours from 6am to 8pm to provide additional help to workers and their families during April, May and June. We have been able to help an extra 54 workers through these extended hours.
MATES is a charity that provides its services and support to the Construction industry for free. This includes all construction workers whether they work in large or small business.
